At Pines Point, we honor Fire Island Pines' journey from its humble beginnings, where old Broadway stars once sought refuge, to the challenges faced during the 1980s. Through significant milestones like the legalization of gay marriage, Fire Island Pines has remained a sanctuary for the LGBTQ+ community. Today, it continues to thrive as a haven of acceptance, creativity, and freedom, embodying the spirit of love and inclusivity.
Pines Point is more than just a stay—it's a passion project born from our deep love for Fire Island Pines. Our team is made up of individuals who have lived in the community, embraced its unique culture, and experienced firsthand the magic of its beaches, parties, and camaraderie. This is our love letter to the Pines, a place where everyone is welcome, and unforgettable memories are made.

Fire Island
Welcome to Fire Island Pines, where legendary kings and queens have made their mark on our community's history with their boldness, creativity, and resilience. This iconic destination is renowned for its vibrant LGBTQ+ community and a history that reads like a Hollywood script. Since the 1950s, Fire Island Pines has been a magnet for diverse visitors, including iconic figures like Truman Capote, Judy Garland, Bette Midler, and Madonna, all drawn to its enchanting setting and welcoming atmosphere.
One of its crowning moments was the creation of The Tea Dance in 1966 by John Whyte at the Blue Whale bar. This event became an instant hit, setting the stage for legendary parties like the Pines Invasion and the unforgettable nights at the Pavilion nightclub. Fire Island Pines has truly earned its place as a beloved gem in the LGBTQ+ community, offering a blend of history, culture, and endless fun. For the ones who have come before us, their boldness, creativity, and resilience have not only shaped our history but continue to inspire and empower us today.
